Biography

Dead 2 Life
The concept name for the musical workings of a Sydney based musician/songwriter, who relates to the world his experiences and beliefs through a world of dark alternative and industrial music. Having worked with several different projects including the Australian metal band InCarnate, James Heath has returned to his former shadow to produce a musical experience to match the fallen world we live in.

The Music
The music is formed around the different styles that James has experienced over his musical career including gothic, industrial, indie rock and metal. All these flavours produce a unique blend of sound that renders no two songs the same. Ranging from the industrial dance track of 'Because of you' to the classical strings arrangment of 'Hidden'. Incorporating poignant samples, haunting female backing vocals, hard hitting rhythms, pulsing electronic bass, dark metal guitar riffs, melodic string parts, grinding synth pads and reflective acoustic guitar lines. Dead 2 Life not only offers you a dark sorrowful soundscape to reflect in but a hope that can let you see the world in a different light. The lyrics display a very human side to the emotions, doubts and fears that we all face in our lives when living in relationship with God.

The History
James started back in 1996 performing this original style solo under the name: Flood Of Life. Then as the music progressed from gothic to industrial, he started to record material for a debut album. But after starting the metal band InCarnate in 1999 with metal guitarist Emanuel Al Haddad, he then concentrated on their first EP 'Insufficient Funds'. Then after three years of local gigs and international festivals, the band split to pursue other projects. Having recognised the influence of metal now present in the new material, Dead 2 Life was born. James has also produced several remixes for the Australian Doom metal Paramaecium as well as recorded solo material for InCarnate Frontman Luke Brennan.
